A SOUND
HELD IN TIME.
HELD IN TIME.
A sound carries something no photograph can hold. Warmth. Rhythm. Presence. Soundlocket® was created to give that presence a lasting physical form.
Soundlocket® records, holds and plays up to sixty seconds of sound. Its energy is generated by winding the crown by hand. No battery, charging, cloud connection or app is required. The sound remains within the object itself, ready to be heard whenever its owner chooses.
NO BATTERY
NO CHARGING
NO CLOUD

Created to exist independently of changing technologies.
Nearly a decade in development. Approximately one hundred components. Around four hundred stages of making. Assembled and individually finished by a watchmaker in Finland. Individually numbered, with annual production capacity limited to only 30–50 Soundlockets.
Pure is the permanent expression of Soundlocket®. Crafted in stainless steel and protected by sapphire crystal, its form has been reduced to what is essential. Quiet in appearance. Precise in purpose. Created to remain.
Available by private order.
The Atelier creates private commissions for individual clients. Each begins with a conversation and develops through design, materials and specialist craftsmanship into a singular creation. Created once. Never repeated.
Soundlocket® began with a deeply personal wish. When founder Krista Kinnunen became a mother, she wanted to give her children something uniquely her own: her voice, her words and the feeling of being close. Nothing she found felt lasting enough. So she began creating it.
Before the first Soundlocket® was completed, the story behind it had already captured international attention. The New York Times, Vogue and Mondani Magazine have featured Krista and her journey from a mother’s wish to an entirely new way of holding sound.
